GOLD MINER ARRESTED AFTER GANJA AND COCAINE FOUND IN MILK TIN

A 62-Years-old Gold Miner was arrested on Friday, September 16th, 2023 with a Quantity of Marijuana and Cocaine found in a Milk Tin during a Police Intel Operation at Bartica Town’s Stelling, Essequibo River, Region Seven.

Police Headquarters reported that the Gold Miner of Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara, was One of 13 Passengers onboard a Water Taxi .

The Operation was conducted at about 13:20 Hrs., on Friday, September 16th,2022.

The Gold Miner had in his possession a White Salt Bag which was checked by a Police Rank. Inside the Bag were a Quantity of Groceries which included a Five Pounds “Fernleaf Milk” Tin. Further searches were conducted in the Milk Tin and the Police Rank found Four compressed bulky transparent Parcels all containing a Quantity of Leaves, Seeds and Stems suspected to be Cannabis,” the Police stated.

Another transparent bulky Parcel with a “whitish rocklike Substance” suspected to be Cocaine was also found.
The Police said the Gold Miner admitted ownership of the Narcotics.

The Gold Miner is presently in custody at the Bartica Town’s Police Station pending Charges.
