WOMAN NABBED AT BARTICA TOWN STELLING WITH GANJA IN TRAVELLING BAG

A 36-Years-old Female Cook from Yarrowkabra Village on the Soesdyke/ Linden Highway, was nabbed at the Bartica Town’s Stelling in Region Seven, with a compressed Parcel of suspected Cannabis in her travelling Bag.

Police Headquarters reported that at around 8:20Hrs on Friday,September 16th,2022, Officers from the Bartica Town’s Police Station went to the Bartica Town’s Stelling, where an inbound Water Taxi was being moored, after the 10 Passengers onboard had disembarked, they were instructed to hold their Luggage and respective Items that they were travelling with, in their possession. The Passengers were then escorted to the nearby Bartica Town’s Police Station, where each Person was searched, including the Female Cook.

The Police further reported that, a compressed bulky Plastic Parcel containing a quantity of Leaves, Seeds and Stems, suspected to be Cannabis, was found in the Female Cook’s travelling Bag.

The Female Cook has denied ownership of the suspicious compressed bulky Plastic Parcel containing a quantity of Leaves, Seeds and Stems , instead related that she was keeping the Bag for a Friend.

Nevertheless, the Narcotic was weighed in her presence at the Bartica Town’s Police Station,and amounted to 353 Grams (or about 0.7 Pound ) . The suspected Narcotic was subsequently placed into a transparent self-sealing Evidence Bag,and sealed with this said Evidence Bag’s manufactured Seal, which was then marked for identification purposes by the Police, and then lodged at the Bartica Town’s Police Station.

The Suspect, continues to assist the Police with their Investigations at the Bartica Town’s Police Station, pending relative Charges.
