THREE APPEARED IN BARTICA TOWN MAGISTRATE’S COURT FOR ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF NARCOTICS FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRAFFICKING

Sixty-Years-old Roger Simon also called ‘Goat Man’ of Second Avenue, Bartica Town , Essequibo River, Region Seven on Monday, September 19th,2022 appeared before the presiding Magistrate of the Bartica Town Magistrate’s Court Madame Crystal Lambert, where the Charge of illegal possession of Narcotics for the purpose of trafficking was read to him. He then entered a “Not Guilty” Plea , and was subsequently released on $100,000 Bail, after being found with 24 Grams of Cannabis on Sunday, September 18th, 2022.

Meanwhile, Kean Cort, a 36-Years-old Female Cook of Yarrowkabra, Soesdyke/Linden Highway was also granted $300,000 Bail on Monday, September 19th,2022 when she appeared before the presiding Magistrate of the Bartica Town Magistrate’s Court Madame Crystal Lambert for the Offence of illegal possession of Narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.Police reported that Cort also pleaded “Not Guilty”.

Simon and Cort Cases were both adjourned to Friday ,October 21st, 2022.

Lionel Mohamed, a 62-Years-old Resident of Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara also appeared before Magistrate Madame Crystal Lambert at the Bartica Town Magistrate’s Court on Monday, September 19th,2022. He was charged with Two Counts of the illegal possession of Narcotics for the purpose of trafficking .

Mohamed was arrested on Monday, September 19th,2022 with 948 Grams of Cannabis, and 55 Grams of Cocaine on Friday last,September 16th,2022.
According to the Release, Mohamed pleaded “Not Guilty” to both Charges, and was remanded to Prison until Wednesday, October 12th, 2022 for Statements.
