HINTERLAND INTELLIGENCE COMMITTEE MEETINGS CONTINUES
The Hinterland Intelligence Committee (HIC) continues its monthly Meetings where it seeks to tackle pressing Issues to keep Citizens in the Hinterland safe.
Since it’s resuscitation by the Acting Commissioner of Police Mr. Clifton Hicken on August 05, 2022, the HIC is reporting greater collaboration and success with Stakeholders to address concerns of TIP, Fuel smuggling, Rape, Child Labour, Drug cultivation and Smuggling, illegal Immigrants and Firearms among other Issues.
The Acting Commissioner of Police Mr. Clifton Hicken, who is the Chairman of the HIC, has challenged the Committee to intensify it’s collaboration and partnerships with Communities to further sensitize them on reducing illegal Activities within their Communities while promoting an atmosphere of Information sharing among key Stakeholders tasked with responsibilities for the Hinterland Regions.
The Top Cop committed the HIC to engage in fan out Exercises in the coming Weeks to the hinterland Regions as they ramp up their Work and have a further understanding of the Challenges that need to be addressed in an effort to keep Guyana safe.
The Hinterland Intelligence Committee comprises of the Guyana Police Force, the Guyana Defence Force, Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit, Ministry of Natural Resources, Guyana Energy Agency, Guyana Forestry Commission, the National Intelligence and Security Agency, Guyana Civil Aviation Authority, Guyana Gold and Diamond Miners Association, while Several other Agencies are expected to be involved in the Work of the Committee shortly.
