REGION SEVEN RDC PILOTS RECOMMENDATIONS TOWARDS BOOSTING LOCAL TOURISM SECTOR
IN 2023 REGIONAL BUDGETARY SUBMISSIONS
Regional Chairman for Region Seven Mr Kenneth Williams has indicated that the RDC has made recommendations for consideration in the Region’s 2023 Budgetary Submissions towards improving the Region’s budding Tourism Sector.
Among those Recommedations, the following Areas were notably identified for enhancement Works:-

The re-sanding of the Bartica Town’s Golden Beach between 3rd and 4th Avenues, to enhance the Beach’s capacity to also host Beach-front related Activities such as: Beach Football, Beach Volleyball,and destination Weddings.

It was also recommended that the prime piece of Real Estate nearby the Bartica Town’s Golden Beach in the Regional Guest House, be converted into a Hotel with a Restuarant and Conference Hall to boost Regional Income. This would also compliment the nearby Landscape layout of the iconic Boulevard, and add to the attraction of the Golden Beach for Tourism related Activities.

Recommendations were also submitted for an extension of the Boulevard, to improve on the hosting capacity for major Tourism Events, along with the Annual Regattas. Currently Events Tourism are critical to the survival of the Region’s Economy.

Rehabilitation of the access Road and Bridge at the amazing Marshall Falls was also recommended. The Marshall Falls is a popular Sightseeing Site that can also be accessed on Land from Central Bartica Town,through it’s access Road.An improved Road’s Surface will therefore create convenient Vehicular access to this attractive Site. Tourism Packages, both internally and externally, will likewise improve proportionately with the local Economy.
