SMALL MINERS ASSOCIATION GUYANA INC CONDEMNS THE REMOVAL OF SMALL MINERS IN THE TWO POINT BACKDAM REGION SEVEN
The Small Miners Association Guyana Inc (SMAGI) has issued a Statement condemning the recent attempt by Authorities to remove Small Miners in the ” Two Point” Backdam of Region Seven.
The Statement was made as a result of a Video Footage, that is currently in circulation on Social Media, via a News Agency depicting circumstances surrounding the attempted removal of Small Miners, in the ‘Two Point’ Backdam, of Region Seven.
The Small Miners Association Guyana Inc (SMAGI) vai this subsequent Statement, highlighted on it’s condemnation of this attempted removal by Authorities of Small Miners, in the ‘Two Point’ Backdam, Cuyuni , Region 7.’
Mr David Daniels, Chairman of the Small Miners Association (Guyana) Inc., in this said Statement further declared that, the Association was made aware of a coordinated operation, between the GGMC., and the GPF, to remove Small Miners who are at the ” Two Point Backdam “
merely seeking to ply their Trade, and also provide for their Families.

Association according to the Statement further, considered this Act by these Authorities against the Small Miners, as unwarranted, especially without initially engaging them in Dialogue.
The Association further in it’s Statement declared that this course of action undertaken by these Authorities, contradicts the attained Spirit of commitment of working together, towards ultimately alleviating the plight of Small Miners,as so understood by the Association , through Several Engagements with His Excellency dating back to June (2022).

Association also further declared in this said Statement, that the Association therefore now stands in solidarity with these affected Small Miners, and is simultaneously seeking an intervention into the Matter, through the goodly Office of his Excellency, with that resolute confidence in prudence , that the Issue can be uniformly resolved, in the best of interests, of all the Stakeholders involved, primarily those of the Small Miners.
