REGION SEVEN AMONG THE REGIONS IDENTIFIED FOR NEW SPORTS HALL FACILITY

Director of Sports, Mr. Steve Ninvalle, during the opening Ceremony of the Heritage Games on Friday, October 14th,2022 in Georgetown, announced that the Plans of the Government of Guyana, also includes the building of new Sports Halls in Regions One, Three, Seven, Eight and Nine.

The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports will also be spearheading the integration of more Sporting Activities, into these said Regions during the coming Year period, where these Facilities will definitely benefit the Thousands of Hinterland Residents, especially in their Athletes’ preparations, for next Year’s Heritage Games.

Director of Sports, Mr. Steve Ninvalle also stated further that the Funds are available, for the construction of new Sports Halls, in all of these said Regions, to the tune of $80 Million each. He also revealed that there have been noted improvements over the Years, and Plans are already on stream to collaborate with the Ministry of Amerindian Affairs, towards ensuring that next Year’s Heritage Games, are hosted on a much larger Platform.

The Annual Heritage Games was conceptualised some 17 Years ago, with the aim of converging Regional Teams, in various Sporting Discipline Competitions, for an Annual Three Days Period.
