GOLD MINER FATALLY CHOPPED AT SAND HILL BACKDAM
A 37-Years-old Gold Miner of Kaneville Squatting Area, East Bank Demerara was chopped to death sometime between 09:00Hrs., on Sunday,November 13th,2022 and 09:00Hrs. on Monday,November 14th,2022 at the Sand Hill Backdam,Cuyuni Mining District Number Three, Region Seven.
Dead is Ravindra Alfred. Police Headquarters reported that he was reportedly involved in an intimate relationship with the Suspect’s Fiancée.
According to the Report, the Suspect, a 27-Years-old Venezuelan National and Alfred worked together at the Sand Hill Backdam.
Alfred’s Mother, 61-Years-old Indra Singh, told Investigators that on Sunday Morning,November 13th,2022 her Son, and the Suspect’s Fiancée, had Breakfast together, and then he left the Mining Camp en route to the Backdam.
After Alfred did not return on Monday,November 14th,2022 his Mother went in search for him, and was informed by Several Workers that her Son’s motionless body was found at the Sand Hill Backdam.
The Woman then contacted the Bartica Town’s Police Station, and reported the Matter.
Police said Alfred was found lying on his Back with Chop Wounds to the Left Hand, a gaping Wound to the Left Side of the Head above the Ear, a gaping Wound to the Face extending from over the top Lip to the Right Eye, and a gaping Wound to the Right Side heek.
Checks that were made for the Suspect and his Fiance proved futile. Investigations are ongoing.
