PRESIDENT ALI MEN ON MISSION INITIATIVE LAUNCHED IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF BARTICA REGION SEVEN
In a nationally significant Movement on the Occassion of International Men’s Day – Saturday, November 19th,2022, Ministers and other Government Officials fanned out to all the Regions of Guyana, to launch President Dr. Irfaan Ali’s Men on Mission (MOM) Initiative.Hon. Kwame Mc Coy. Minister of Public Affairs, within the Office of the Prime Minister piloted Region Seven’s grand ceremonial Launch in the Municipality of Bartica, Region Seven.
This Initiative is the brainchild of President Ali, and is meant to uplift the younger generation of Men who face many societal ills, such as Drug Abuse, Domestic Violence, Gang Violence, and other Violent Crimes. The intention is to provide Men with Guidance and Counselling, recreational and fitness Activities, and ultimately create Economic Empowerment through temporary Employment Schemes.
The Master of Ceremony for this Grand Ceremonial Launch for Region Seven was Mr. Erwin Warde, Region Seven’s Representative for the Office of the Prime Minister, who zestfully introduced the Presenters at this Ceremonial Launch, their Presentations were all excellently aimed at appropriately motivating, and efficiently inspiring the Men in attendance, these Presenters were: Major Kirk Marlock of the Guyana Defence Force, Regional Commander of Regional Police Division Number Seven -Senior Superintendent of Police Mr Dion Moore , Representative of the Christian Denomination Mr.Calmeth Younge , Poet and Educator Mr. Jermain Joseph who delivered an Inspiring Presentation, Youth Representative Mr Conan Belle, Representative of the Regional Hindhu Denomination Mr Ajay Doobay , Regional Health Officer Dr.Edward Sagala who edifyingly represented the Region’s Health Sector, Imam Omar graciously represented the Muslim Faith, Municipal Youth Motivator Mr Adrian Branford delivered a captivating and inspiring Song , Mr. Alden Marslowe represented Regional Sports Disciplines,and also National Touchao Council’s Secretary and Karrau’s Villiage Touchao Mr Shane Cornelius delivered a unique motivational perspective to inspire those in Attendance. Mayor of Bartica Town, Mr Gifford Marshall,and Regional Chairman Mr Kenneth Williams also delivered inspirational Presentations.
The Feature Address was delivered by Hon. Kwame Mc Coy. Minister of Public Affairs, for the Office of the Prime Minister, where everyone in attendance were further made aware of the significant values of this Initiative within the Presidential One Guyana Program.
