BARTICAN AMONG THOSE ARRESTED IN GEORGETOWN AFTER NARCOTICS DISCOVERY


Officers from the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) on Friday, November 2nd,2022 found Seven Pounds of Cocaine, and more than Three Pounds of Marijuana at a House located at Smythe Street, Charlestown, Georgetown.

A CANU Release reported that Officers were engaged in a Surveillance Operation in the vicinity of Church street, Georgetown, on Friday, where they observed a “suspicious transaction”, prompting them to pursue One of the Suspects to his Symthe Street Residence.

Officers then searched the House there, and found Five Brick-like Parcels suspected to be Cocaine, and Two Plastic Bags with Narcotics suspected to be Cannabis.

Javed Ragnauth, 28 Years , and Samantha Nasemento, 32 Years, the Residents of the Smythe Street House along with with Yancy Garraway, 35 Years , of Lot 2 North Road Bourda,Georgetown and Charles Jones, 48, a Gold Miner of Lot 451, Four Miles Housing Scheme, Bartica Town, Region Seven, were all arrested and escorted to CANU Headquarters with the suspected Narcotics.
The Narcotics subsequently tested Positive for Cannabis and Cocaine, and amounted to 3.312 Kilogrammes (or Seven Pounds) of Cocaine and 1.520 Kilogrammes (or 3.3 Pounds) of Cannabis.
