37 YEARS OLD WOMAN DIES IN WEST COAST DEMERARA ACCIDENT
An Accident involving Two Mini-Buses and a Motor Lorry at Zeeburg, West Coast Demerara that occurred in the vicinity of GuyAmerica on Saturday, December 18th,2022 claimed the life of 37-Years-old Gaitree Sewsankar, a Resident of Sister’s Village, West Bank Demerara.
The Motor Lorry bearing License Registration Number Plate GWW 6801 was being driven by 31-Years-old Christopher Rufino; Mini- Bus bearing License Registration Number Plate BTT 1676 owned and driven by Vickram Persaud, a 62-Years-old Resident of Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo (EBE); and Mini-Bus bearing License Registration Number Plate BAB 1864 owned by Gary Aaron of Uitvlugt and was being driven by Devon Daziel, a 35-Years-old of Vergenoegen, EBE.

Police Headquarters reported that there were 14 Passengers in Mini-Bus BAB 1864 which crashed into the Pedestrians, Sewsankar, and Alea Sase, also of Sister’s Village, at around 14:30Hrs.
Enquiries disclosed that Mini-Bus BAB 1864 was speeding East along the Northern Side of the Road when an unknown Car turned Left into School Street at Zeeburg.
According to the Police, Daziel, the Driver of the Mini-Bus, pulled Right to avoid a collision when he crashed into the front portion side of the Motor Lorry, and then into the Second Mini-Bus bearing License Registration Number Plate BTT 1676 which was parked on the Northern Side of the Road before slamming into the Two Female Pedestrians.

Sewsankar ended up under Mini- Bus bearing License Registration Number Plate BAB 1864; all Passengers, including the Driver and Pedestrian were seriously injured.
They were taken to the Leonora Cottage Hospital where Sewsankar was pronounced dead.
The Driver of the Mini-Bus, along with Three of the Passengers, Imtiaz Ishmeal, Sydney Stephen and Raysidea Marian, were transferred to the West Demerara Regional Hospital for further treatment.
Police said the Drivers were tested for Alcohol, and no trace was found. Investigations are still ongoing.
