BODY OF A LAND SURVEYOR DISCOVERED WITH LACERATIONS IN THE ARIMU BACKDAM AFTER A SUSPECTED ROBBERY
The Body of Ricky Ambrose, a Land Surveyor with about 20 Years experience , was discovered by Persons passing by at around 10:00Hrs., on Sunday, December 18th,2022 in the Arimu Backdam, which is located in the Cuyuni Gold Mining District Number 4, of Region Seven.
The Body was discovered with Lacerations some distance away from his All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV), with his licensed Firearm, a Quantity of raw Gold, and Cash also missing.
A Report was then made to the Bartica Town’s Police Station, who then promptly in response mobilised themselves, and travelled into the Scence of the Discovery, and conducted their Crime Scene Investigations, where they also interviewed Persons of interest.
The Body was then under Police escort, transported carefully out from the Area, so as to ensure that no other injuries were inflicted to Body whiles enroute to the Bartica Town’s Regional Public Hospital, where a Doctor on duty Monday Afternoon, December 19th,2022 conducted a Medical Examination, and then made an official Pronouncement of Dead on arrival.
The Bartica Town’s Police then ensured that the Corpse was still kept in proper storage conditions, as they then further escorted the Corpse to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home and Crematorium, that is located in the Georgetown City for storage, pending an Autopsy Examination that will be conducted at an arranged time.
The Police of Regional Police Division Number Seven are still continuing with their Investigations into all the circumstances, and leads, surrounding this gruesome occurrence.
The Regional Police Division Number Seven Year-End Mass Policing Exercises that has already been launched, are still in full effect Regionally, until the 15th January, 2023, and onwards where Regional Policing Exercises will continue.
A subsequent Press Release from a Mining Organization stated that the late Ambrose is well known to all, in the Mining Districts around Guyana, the Press Release also expressed it’s Condolences to the Family, and Friends of the late Ricky Ambrose.
