MORE UPDATES INTO POLICE INVESTIGATIONS INTO THE ALLEGED MURDER AND ROBBERY OF MINING SURVEYOR

The Guyana Police Force is investigating a Case of an alleged Murder and Robbery committed on Ricky Oswald Ambrose, a 40-Years-old Mining Surveyor and Ranger of Lot 3093 Profit’s Square, South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, which occurred on Sunday, December 18th, 2022, on ‘Guana’ Sand Trail, Cuyuni Mining District Number Four, in Region Seven.

Investigations so far have revealed that Ambrose was a licensed Firearm Holder of a .32 Pistol. He was employed as a Ranger with “Alphonso Mining” in the Cuyuni Mining District of Region Seven. Based on Information received, at about 05:00 Hrs., on Sunday, December 18th,2022, Ambrose left the Arimu Landing en route to ‘Guana’ Sand Landing with his ATV bearing License Registration Number Plate #CK 3965.

However, at about 11:00 Hrs on the said Day, a 24-Year-old Miner was heading from his “Work Ground” to his “Camp-Ground”, and was walking along the Arimu Trail when he observed a Body lying motionless on the Ground with multiple Injuries. The Body was about 20 Feet from the ATV.An Alarm was raised, and a Report was subsequently made at the Bartica Town’s Police Station.

The Report was received at about 14:20 Hrs., on Sunday, December 18th, 2022 At 15:15 Hrs., a Police Team comprising of a Sergeant, a Corporal, and a Constable, left for the Scene via Police ATV bearing License Registration Number Plate #CL1738. After crossing over the Mazaruni River at Teperu, the Axle of the ATV broke. The Three Ranks quickly managed to get it fixed, and continued their Journey through the Trail.

They arrived at the Arimu Backdam at 00:30Hrs., and continued the Journey, proceeding through a back Trail to the Scene, where they encountered a Creek which prevented them from crossing.They remained there until Daylight, and crossed the Creek, arriving at the Scene at about 06:00 Hrs., this Morning, Monday December 19th, 2022

The Scene was processed and photographed. No Firearm, Gold or Cash was found.The Body was escorted to the Bartica Town’s Regional Public Hospital. Additional Ranks joined the Team, and are continuing with the Investigation.

Meanwhile, note was taken of a Public Statement as it relate to the Police’s Response. The Facts, as stated above, highlight the Physical Challenges constantly encountered by the Police Ranks of Regional Police Division Number Seven, that encompasses the Geographic Mountaineous Rainforest Terrain of the Cuyuni-Mazaruni, Region Seven, in getting to the Crime Scenes as quickly as they would want to.
