BARTICA TOWN ACCIDENT VICTIM IN A CRITICAL CONDITION AT THE GEORGETOWN PUBLIC HOSPITAL
Seven-Years-old “Wesley”, a Student of the Two Miles Primary School, Bartica Town , Region Seven, is now in a critical condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
The Child was struck down by a Motorcar on a Main Roadway in the Municipality of Bartica, Region Seven, on Thursday, December 5th, 2023 at around 14:30 Hours, just after he had exited a Minibus, and was crossing the said Roadway. The Motorcar at the said time was being driven by a 35-Years-old Female Driver, who is now in Police Custody assisting with their Investigations relatively.
The Child was subsequently airlifted to Georgetown from Bartica Town, through a Medical Evacuation Exercise, that was conducted by the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) Air Corps, during the period of 20:20 Hours to 21:15 Hours, on Thursday Night, January 5th,2023.
The GDF subsequently in a Statement stated, that Doctors at the Bartica Town’s Regional Public Hospital made a Request through the Regional Health System, after which the GDF was contacted, and the requisite Approval was granted to transport the Lad who has suffered substantial Injuries, and had to be intubated before travelling onboard the GDF’s Bell 412 Helicopter.
Residents of the Municipality of Bartica are now very much concerned about this unfortunate occurrence, they are all now hoping, and praying for the best possible outcome for the Accident Victim.
