GDF AIR CORPS CONDUCTED MEDICAL EVACUATION OF 7 YEARS OLD ACCIDENT VICTIM FROM BARTICA TOWN TO GEORGETOWN
The Guyana Defence Force,GDF.’s Air Corps, on Thursday Night,December 5th, 2023 conducted a Medical Evacuation Exercise, for a 7-Years old Boy from the Bartica Town’s Regional Public Hospital, following a Motor Vehicle Accident, that had occurred earlier in the Municipality of Bartica, Region Seven.
Doctors at the Bartica Town’s Regional Public Hospital during their Process of Administering Medical attention to the Accident Victim, made a Request through the Regional Health System for the Medical Evacuation Exercise , where the GDF was contacted, and the requisite Approval was sought, and granted, to transport the Lad, who had suffered substantial Injury.
The Accident Victim was conveyed in an Ambulance from the Bartica Town’s Regional Public Hospital to the nearby Bartica Town’s Municipal Playfield, and boarded the GDF’s Bell 412 Helicopter.
Prior towards travelling, the Accident Victim had to be intubated.
The Bell 412 had departed Air Corps at approximately 20:20 Hours, and landed at the GDF’s Base Camp Ayanganna on it’s return to Georgetown, at around 21:15 Hours on Thursday Night, December 5th, 2023.
The Child was then transported by Ambulance to the Georgetown Public Hospital for further Medical attention.
