MOTHER DEVASTATED AS SON REMAINS UNCONSCIOUS AFTER ACCIDENT IN BARTICA TOWN
Seven-Years-old Wesley Hopkinson, a Grade Three Pupil of the Two Miles Potaro Road Primary School in Bartica Town, Region Seven remains unconscious after he was involved in an Accident at around 14:30 Hours Thursday, January 5th,2023.
Wesley had just exited his School Bus, and was crossing the Road to his House when he was struck down by a Motor Vehicle being driven by a 35-Years-old Female Driver.
The Lad’s Mother, Cinella Hopkinson reportedly stated that she heard a loud Bang, but did not know then that it was her Son who was struck down.
The devastated Woman further stated that, “the School Bus that he does normally catch, stop and drop him off, and the next thing I hear is a Bang, and when I run out People say my Son get knocked down”, but a passing Car quickly picked up the injured Boy, and rushed him to the Bartica Town’s Regional Public Hospital.
Cinella also said that her Son is on a Ventilator, and suffered severe Head Injuries. He was airlifted from the Bartica Town’s Regional Public Hospital to the Georgetown Public Hospital Hours after the Accident,“He cannot breathe without Oxygen,” the Mother of Two said.
She also stated that, she believes the Female Driver who is in Police Custody, was on her way to pick up her Children from School, when the Accident occurred.
According to the Boy’s Mother, he knows how to cross the Road.The Bartica Town’s Police are continuing with their investigations into the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate occurrence.
