CENTRAL BARTICA TOWN CPG SUCCESSFULLY HOSTED ITS FIRST STATUTORY MEETING FOR 2023


The Central Bartica Town’s Community Policing Group, CPG., has successfully hosted it’s First Statutory Meeting for the New Administrative Year of 2023 after completing it’s Membership resuscitation Drive to now fully constitute it’s Executive Council.
The Group has also at this Forum set in motion it’s First Quarter of the Year 2023 Fund Raising Activities Plans, during this Period the Group will host a Domino Competition to involve Domino Teams from within the Municipality of Bartica. The Group also intends to host during the Month of February around the Occassion of Mashramani 2023 a Soft Ball Cricket Competition to involve Teams from within the Municipality of Bartica, and also from the Saterlite Riverain Communities.

Full Scale Community Policing Activities were recently handicapped in the Municipality of Bartica, due to the advent of the Covid-19 Pandemic’s National Emergency Protocols, and this Hiatus indeed did compound the inactivity of the Group further during that period,however in 2021 an Interim resuscitation Committee was installed, that successfully completed a Membership Drive, towards the Group now eventually realizing in the Month of January 2023, the hosting of it’s First Statutory Meeting for the Year of 2023, that formally yielded the Group’s Executive Council now being fully constituted, and this Executive Council has also commenced with planning of it’s Work Program for the Year of 2023.This Statutory Forum of the Central Bartica Town’s CPG also identified it’s Youth Development Committee, that will be in the stewardship of Mr Carl Methuram who has already introduced Three prospective Youth Committee Members to this Statutory Forum, and the Women Affairs Committee which is now under the Stewardship of Ms Joanne Woolford, she will be working in tandem with Mrs Cianna Persaud De Frietas and Ms Nanda Newton, to proactively mobilsed further, the Women Affairs Development from a Community Policing prospective, with other similar Stakeholders Body in the Municipality of Bartica.

Mr Joel Fernandes has also been formally identified, as the Central Bartica Town’s CPG Laison with the Station Management Committee of the Bartica Town’s Police Station. Mr Joel Fernandes, Mr Carl Methuram and Mrs Cianna Persaud De Frietas will also work along with the Group Chairman Rural Corporal Mr Edward Anthony Persaud on both the Organising and Public Relations Committees.

The Group currently now boasts an active Membership List of Fiftheen Members, of which One Male Rural Corporal, One Male Rural Constable, One Male CPG Member and a Female CPG Member continues to be actively involved with the Bartica Town’s Police Mass Patrol Exercises around the Municipality of Bartica.




Subordinate Officer of the Bartica Town’s Police Station, Sergeant Mentis, who also present at this Forum, took the opportunity to commend the Central Bartica Town’s CPG for their consistency, in working along with the Police, in Mass Patrol Exercises todate, from the 15th November 2022.He also highlighted that the Police will imminently mobilise Training Sessions with the Group particularly in Subject Areas that are deemed necessary, and urgent, he also highlighted that Refresher Training Programs will also focus on the Subject Areas of properly making an Arrest , making the correct entries in the Occurence Book, the Dairy , and proper Statement Writing.
The Central Bartica Town’s CPG also intends within it’s Work Program Plans, to work along with the Police of Bartica Town, and the Bartica Town’s MARAD Chapter, to conduct River Patrols around the Riverain Perimeters of the Municipality of Bartica.

The Central Bartica Town’s CPG will now host it’s next Statutory Meeting on the 15th February, 2023.
