TEACHER REMANDED TO PRISON FOR MURDER OF GRANDMOTHER

Two Months after she reportedly murdered her Grandmother, 22-Years-old Stephanie Gamell was charged, and remanded to Prison on Friday, February 3rd,2023.

Stephanie, a former Teacher of Richmond Village, Essequibo Coast, appeared virtually at the Suddie Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Honorable Esther Sam.

She was not required to plea to the Charge which alleged that she killed her Grandmother, Agatha Gamell sometime between November 26th – 27th, 2022.

The young Woman was then remanded to Prison until February 27th, 2023 when she will appear at the Charity Magistrate’s Court for Disclosure of Statements.

Agatha was found battered with her Throat slit, her Hair cut off and Salt around her Body on November 27th in her Charity, Essequibo Coast Home.

Stephanie was hospitalised at the Psychiatric Ward of the Georgetown Public Hospital.

At the Time of the Murder, Stephanie had recently given Birth to her First Child, and Relatives say she has been grappling with Post-Partum Depression.

Agatha was found dead 15 Minutes after Neighbours heard her screaming.

Agatha’s Daughter, Simone Gamell, had told the Media that the Night before, the young Woman rubbed Salt all over her Mother’s Skin, and plastered her Face with Lime.

Simone said the Teacher started acting strangely just after giving Birth to her First Child,and detailed that she was extremely jealous of anyone touching the Infant, and accused Family Members of trying to take her Baby away from her.
