MINISTER MR VICKRAM BHARRAT CONDUCTS OUTREACH IN LOWER REGION SEVEN

The Honourable Minister Mr. Vickram Bharrat, M.P., for the Ministry of Natural Resources and his Team also from the Ministry, with the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission and the Guyana Forestry Commission, on Saturday, February 4th,2023, visited the Amerindian Villages of Caria Caria, Karrau and Batavia. These Villages are all located around the Lower Cuyuni/Mazaruni Areas of Region Seven.

During these Visits the Ministry of Natural Resources’s Entourage led by Minister Mr Vickram Bharrat, engaged in Discussions, and also then listened to the Concerns of the Residents of these Villages, inclusive of the Miners and Loggers.

Members of the Team also visited the mining and logging Operations, and the nearby Creeks around these Villages to observe the on going Works there, so as to ensure that these Tasks there, are definitely being performed safely and correctly, for the protection of the Workers, as well as the Community Members, and the Environment.

Caria Caria, One of the Three Villiages visited is located on the Western Shore of the Essequibo River. Karrau another Village, is located in the lower Mazaruni River Area, while the Batavia Village is located around the Mouth of the Cuyuni River, Region Seven.
