MINISTER OF NATURAL RESOURCES CONTINUES MINISTRY OUTREACH WITH MINERS AND LOGGERS IN BARTICA TOWN.
The Honourable Minister Mr. Vickram Bharrat, M.P., with his Team from the Ministry of Natural Resources , along with the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission GGMC., the Guyana Forestry Commission GFC., the Guyana Gold Board GGB. and the Ministry’s Core of Wardens, on Saturday, February 4th,2023 met with the Miners and Loggers of Bartica Town , Region Seven, also present were the Mayor of Bartica Town, and Regional Chairman of Region Seven .
Minister Bharrat’s Visit was a commitment made to continue interacting with Miners and Loggers so as to listen directly to their Concerns which will aid in developing the Sector.
During discussions, the Hon. Minister emphasized on the Benefits that Miners and Loggers will receive while paying Zero Taxes on Fuel, in addition too encouragment was given about safe Mining with an aim towards the reduction in the use of Mercury.
The Minister also discussed about the importance of sustainable logging, and encouraged the Loggers to make use of the revolving Fund, which is now available to them for assistance in boosting their Production.
The Minister also further emphasized on the importance of value added production towards expanding the Forestry Sector towards maintaining our Country’s Carbon Credits as we also protect our Forests.
