BARTICA GOLD MINER IN CRITICAL CONDITION AFTER SEVERE BEATING

Police are investigating the attempted murder of a 22-Years-old Gold Miner who was brutally beaten on Thursday, February 16th,2023 during an Argument, and two of his Three Attackers have since been arrested.

Injured is Ryan Williams of Byderabo Ward, Bartica Town, Essequibo River. The Incident occurred at about 16:00Hrs at Byderabo Road, Bartica Town .

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) in a Press Statement on Friday said that the Victim’s reputed Wife, Annalisa Pereira, told Investigators that Williams, who was under the influence, had an Argument with One of the Suspects’ Girlfriends.The Argument subsequently subsided.

However, when One of the Suspects returned Home, and learned of what transpired, the Matter escalated.

“The Two Brothers and the 17-Years-old Female then went to the Victim’s House, and confronted him, during which they allegedly dealt him Several Lashes about his Body, and Head, with a piece of Wood, causing Injuries,” the Police explained.

The Two Brothers reside next to Williams and his Wife.

Williams was rushed to the Bartica Hospital, and Hours later, he was Air-dashed to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) for further emergency Medical Treatment, his condition is listed as critical.

Two of the Suspects, Ages 17 and 20,Years are currently in custody.

“Efforts are underway to arrest the 25-Years-old Suspect,” the Police said.
