POLICE RECOVER TWO MORE FIREARMS IN REGION SEVEN
Police Ranks in Region Seven have yet again seized Two more illegal Firearms during an Operation conducted on Monday, March 20th, 2023.
Based on Information gathered, the Three Ranks led by a Police Sergeant went to a Shop owned by a Couple, a 38-Years-old Businesswoman, and a 40-Years-old Man, in the Toroparu Backdam.
Whilst at the Location, the Ranks conducted a Search of the Shop, and it’s immediate Environs, and found a Semi-Automatic Machine Gun along with Eleven 9mm Rounds of Ammunition a short distance away from the Shop.
At the time of the Search, the 38-Years-old Businesswoman and her 30-Years-old Brother-in-Law were both questioned. The 30-Years-old Man claimed that the Firearm, along with the Ammunition, belonged to him. He was arrested, and cautioned.
Subsequently, as the Ranks proceeded out of the Back Dam, they observed a 20-Years-old Gold Miner who had a 12 Gauge Shotgun with Two matching Cartridges. Under caution, the 20-Years-old who was apprehended claimed that the Firearm belonged to his Boss – the 40-Years-old Man who owned the Shop at Toroparu.
The 38-Years-old Businesswoman, her 30-Years-old Brother-in-Law, and the 20-Years-old Man, along with the Two Firearms, were all escorted to the Enachu Police Station.
They are presently in custody as Police Ranks are trying to locate the 40-Years-old Man.
Police Ranks in Regional Police Division Number Seven had also seized Two unlicensed Firearms, and over 700 Grams of suspected Cannabis during an Operation that was conducted between March 18th to 19th, 2023, in the Sewanda, and Turtle Creek Gold Mining Areas, both Areas are located in the Number Three Mining District, of Region Seven.
The Ranks, led by a Police Sergeant, were acting on Intelligence gathered when they went to the Sewanda Mining Area. While in the Area, as they were approaching a Shop, a 39-Years-old Man who was standing beside the Shop threw a Purple Haversack on the Ground.
Upon inspecting the Bag, the Ranks found 22 transparent Parcels of Leaves, Seeds and Stems suspected to be Cannabis. The Man was told of the Offence, cautioned and arrested.
Further, during this Operation at about 02:15 Hrs, while approaching a Camp in the Mining Area, an identifiable Man was seen running away from the Camp. The Ranks gave chase, but were unable to apprehend the Man. During a subsequent Search of the Camp, the Ranks found a Black 9mm Pistol hidden in the Camp.
While over at Turtle Creek Backdam, the Ranks went to a Camp belonging to a 58-Years-old Brazilian Man. They searched the Camp, and it’s immediate Environs. During the Search, they found a 12-Gauge Shotgun hidden behind a Tree a short Distance from the Camp.The 58-Years-old Man was told of the Offence, and admitted ownership of the Firearm under Caution.
The Suspects, along with the Firearms and suspected Cannabis, were escorted to the Enachu Police Station, where the Cannabis was weighed, and amounted to 739.6 Grams.
The Suspects are presently in custody awaiting Charges.
