Twenty Eight Years old Jason Jacobis, a Driver from Lot 131 Prashad Street Annandale, East Coast Demerara, was earlier this Week arrested by a Detective Corporal from Ruimveldt Police Station, and charged with Two Counts of ‘Facilitating a Terrorist Act’, contrary to Section 309 A( 2) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01.
Jacobis is accused of committing the Offences on 17th May 2025, at the East Ruimveldt Police Station Out Post, and the GPL Sub-Station on Aubrey Barker Road, respectively.
He appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates Court before acting Chief Magistrate Madame Faith McGusty. The Prosecutor objected to Bail, but the Accused was granted Bail in the Sum of $500,000 for each Offence. He was also ordered to lodge his Passport, and to report to the Ruimveldt Police Station every Friday Morning at 09:00 Hrs. The Case was postponed to 2nd July, 2025.
